About the Festival

A festival built on
attention.

The USA Children's International Film Festival gathers storytellers from every continent around a single conviction — that childhood is the most consequential territory a filmmaker can enter.

We are not a charity and not a spectacle. We are a home for work that treats the inner life of a child with the full seriousness of art — restrained, luminous, and unforgettable. Filmmakers of every age are welcome, provided the story keeps its gaze on the world young people are growing into.

Our Philosophy

Four beliefs
we return to.

Child observing world in light and shadow
01

We take childhood seriously.

A child watches without irony. When a story is true, they carry it for life. We make and celebrate films worthy of that attention.

02

Every image must earn its place.

We prize restraint over spectacle, meaning over motion. A single held frame can say more than a thousand cuts.

03

Wonder is a form of intelligence.

Curiosity is courage before it learns to be embarrassed. We honour films that treat discovery as a kind of plot.

04

Filmmakers of every age are welcome.

From five to ninety-five — what unites our filmmakers is not age but a steady gaze on the world young people are growing into.

The Official Award

The Golden
Wolf-Pup.

The pup looks upward — toward the stars, toward what is not yet known. It is given to the film that most embodies the seeker’s spirit: curious, brave, and unafraid of the dark.
